Nice to meet ya!

To be totally honest, I’ve never really known what I want to be when I '“grow up.” Being born and raised in South Louisiana, the only things I’ve ever been sure of are that I want to eat good food and enjoy good company. When I started my freshman year of college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, I couldn’t imagine I’d be sitting in Italy 5 years later making a photography website. That first semester of college, I majored in “hospitality management,” of all things, for a mere two weeks before swiftly changing to biology. And then journalism. And then architecture. And then nursing (this one was a real doozy). And then I finally landed on Public Relations with a minor in Psychology. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my studies, it was the desire to graduate with a degree in something, that kept me from switching my major again. (Rest assured, I did earn my Bachelor’s, with good grades and all in December 2022).

And then, I decided I wanted to move to Italy. Well, first I started working full-time at a marketing job in my college town. I only made it like 7 months before I decided it was time to high-tail it out of there. So, yeah… Italy! It wasn’t a decision that came totally out of left field, though. I had previously spent a summer in northern Italy as an au pair and the experience never really left me. So I got my TEFL certification, lined up a part-time job at a nursery as the “English Coordinator,” (a very fancy way of saying I spoke in English with the Italian toddlers for half of the day), signed up for Italian lessons at a local school, and headed out to Florence. (This
